L&rsquo;avionneur am\u00e9ricain devra fournir quatre de ces appareils sans pilote \u00e0 la US Navy d&rsquo;ici 2024. Le r\u00f4le Stingray sera de ravitailler les appareils lanc\u00e9s \u00e0 partir des porte-avions am\u00e9ricains tels que les F-35 et F-18 afin d&rsquo;\u00e9tendre leur port\u00e9e. D\u00e9collant\u00a0lui-m\u00eame du porte-avions, le drone pourra \u00eatre disponible aux chasseurs am\u00e9ricains beaucoup plus rapidement que les appareils normalement utilis\u00e9s pour ce genre d&rsquo;op\u00e9ration, comme le KC-135 Stratotanker, qui doivent d\u00e9coller de pistes terrestres.<\/p>\n<p>Ce projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 afin de r\u00e9pondre au d\u00e9veloppement, par les Russes et les Chinois, de missiles longue port\u00e9e capables d&rsquo;atteindre les porte-avions d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s en zones contest\u00e9es. \u00c0 son entr\u00e9e en service en 2024, le MQ-25A sera le premier drone au monde utilis\u00e9 pour le ravitaillement en vol.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/players.brightcove.net\/800000612001\/HkfKZsVmQ_default\/index.html?videoId=5765619777001\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Un drone arm\u00e9 d&rsquo;un laser<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spectralaviation.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/LPLD-contract-4-Sept-2018.jpg.scale_.LARGE_.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2186\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2186\" src=\"https:\/\/spectralaviation.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/LPLD-contract-4-Sept-2018.jpg.scale_.LARGE_-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"LPLD contract 4 Sept 2018.jpg.scale.LARGE\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spectralaviation.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/LPLD-contract-4-Sept-2018.jpg.scale_.LARGE_-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/spectralaviation.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/LPLD-contract-4-Sept-2018.jpg.scale_.LARGE_.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Le d\u00e9veloppement d&rsquo;un laser assez puissant pour d\u00e9truire un missile en phase de lancement et pouvant \u00eatre mont\u00e9 sur un drone va bon train. En effet, \u00e0 la demande de la US Missile Defense Agency, plusieurs compagnies am\u00e9ricaines dont General Atomics, Lockheed Martin et Boeing, se sont vues octroyer des fonds de recherche afin de\u00a0poursuivre le d\u00e9veloppement de cette arme antimissile.<\/p>\n<p>Entrant pr\u00e9sentement dans la seconde phase du projet, des prototypes \u00e0 basse puissance seront construits et int\u00e9gr\u00e9s afin de tester le contr\u00f4le et la stabilit\u00e9 du faisceau. Des tests en vol devraient avoir lieu en 2020 et 2021. \u00c0 la fin des phases d&rsquo;essais du projet, la d\u00e9fense am\u00e9ricaine esp\u00e8re pouvoir en \u00e9quiper un drone volant \u00e0 haute altitude afin de pouvoir d\u00e9ployer un syst\u00e8me capable de d\u00e9truire les missiles ennemis avant m\u00eame qu&rsquo;ils ne puissent quitter le pas de tir.<\/p>\n<h2>Du militaire au civil<\/h2>\n<p>Bien que ces innovations soient pour l&rsquo;instant exclusivement militaires, des applications civiles pourraient facilement en d\u00e9couler. Il serait alors possible de voir dans le futur des flottes de drones ravitailleurs permettant d&rsquo;\u00e9tendre la port\u00e9e des avions transportant des passagers ou du fret, \u00e9liminant ainsi le besoin d&rsquo;effectuer des escales pour ravitailler l&rsquo;appareil.
