Parrot, a European drone company, also owner of Sensefly which produce the famous eBee will launch, in March 2016, a multi-spectral camera for precision agriculture. The camera, named Sequoia, will be the smallest multi-spectral camera conceived to be on a drone to this day.
This camera weight a tiny 80g and should be compatible with most UAV’s on the current market. It will allow agronomists and farmers determine with precision if certain parts of their field requires fertilizer, water or any treatment against insect or fungus.
With its price lower than other similar cameras, if the characteristics are as promised, this could then become a must have tool for the farmers who want to improve their field.
